Sunday morning, I got up early and made it to Morgan Carper. I had no idea Morgan was a Brooklyn based designer so, of course, I was a little excited. I tweeted this as I sipped on my first mimosa before the show:

“Organic shoppers at @MorganCarper #NYFW @George_PR”

“Wondering where this is going. ::picks up run of the show:: #NYFW @George_PR”

While waiting for Graeme Armour to start, I passed through the ALDO RISE presentation of Faster by Mark Fast.

Who’d have thought a shy, down-home Canadian Winnipeg boy could wreck such sensual magic with a knitting machine? But proof is every-where: since graduating with an MA from Central Saint Martins in London and immediately launching his line to major buzz, his cobwebby, skin-baring designs have been worn by style-makers from Tilda Swinton to Julia Restoin-Roitfeld to Rihanna. — via ALDORISE.com

By pure happenstance, I was able to go to 4 shows during this past weeks Spring 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: The Academy of Art University on Friday, Graeme Armour & Venexiana on Saturday, and Morgan Carper on Sunday.

Saturday night, I had passes for two shows, Graeme Armour and Venexiana. Graeme Armour took place at the Penthouse at MILK Studios and was handled by the lovely ladies of Exposure PR who also handled the Dr. Martens ‘First and Forever; Bloggers Breakfast I attended a few weeks ago. These are a few of my fav pieces from the collection:
Above: Ludo Slashed Silk Top in Black with Cagney Tartan Lace Trouser in Black

Wapner Slash Dress in White with Alastair Cutout Gilet in Black
And if I actually could ever wear a belly shirt again…

When I moved back in December of 2010, I was forced to find my own internet service provider since all of my neighbors had their wifi connections password protected. I decided to go with Clear only because it was the first commercial I’d seen for wireless, mobile internet.

If only I’d done a simple twitter mention search, I would have seen something like this…

In case you were wondering, yes, the service IS that bad. I can barely stream YouTube videos when I want and the Clear coverage ISN’T that good. I went to Virginia and couldn’t use the service in any of the 3, very popular/populated cities I visited. This is the worst interent service I’ve ever used and I would advise all of you AGAINST signing a contract with them.
For more on my terrible experience, look below…

Yesterday, my mom and I finally redeemed our KGB Deal for a trip to Westside Pistol Range. The closest I’d come to shooting a real gun before my trip to WPR was shooting targets for a crappy stuffed animal at Six Flags.

The Westside Pistol Range is the last indoor gun range in Manhattan. It’s normally $65 for a non-members first trip to the WPR but through KGB, my mom and I got to go for $32.50 a piece. We sat through a 30-minute instructional class on safety and basics on operating a Ruger 10/22 semi-automatic rifle.

After the class, we filled 5 magazines with 5 bullets each and had a chance at firing on a target. To see how well I did (including video!!) look below…

If you follow me on Twitter, then you know that I did something special yesterday. I was on The Nate Berkus Show! I’m going to be on a segment talking about the most financially sound way to re-do my kitchen.

I always doubted what goes on behind the scenes of these shows but it seems as though Nate actually took a look at the photos from my apartment because his answer was spot on. What was his answer?
Hmmm…. I’m not telling you! You’ll have to wait until the show airs to see.
***UPDATE***
The shows’ production assistants e-mailed me earlier to say that the show will air next week Thursday, September 15, 2011. For my readers here in the tri-state area, the show airs on NBC 4 at 3pm. For anyone reading this outside of the tri-state area, please check your local listings and set your DVR’s!
For more pics and to see what I tweeted throughout my time at the studio (all of my tweets pretty much tell the story of my day), look below…

I spent my Friday morning at the Dr. Martens “First and Forever” Bloggers Breakfast. “First and Forever” is the title of Dr. Martens Fall campaign which is all about first experiences. Bloggers in New York and London shared their first experiences on love, heartbreak, and Doc Marten shoes while viewing the upcoming collection.

Here in New York, I shared my first experience on my mom’s first foster child and got to hear about Scott Schuman’s start on The Sartorialist and French photographer Garance Doré’s first, real photoshoot.
“Few brand experiences stay with you as long as your first pair of Dr. Martens and that moment is often an important first expression of personal style and identity.” This may very well be true as I hadn’t had very much knowledge of the brand until Friday. I had no idea that Dr. Martens had such a variety of styles (like the ones below).
