My Stay at Bávaro Beach, DR

As I’m sure you all know, my birthday was a little more than a week ago. I spent my special day in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with my mom. You can see my original post about my trip here.

We left on Sunday and came back last Friday. I had such a great time and finally got a chance to really RELAX! No AIM, no Twitter, no Facebook, Myspace, texting, BBM, phone… NONE OF THAT! haha! I also didn’t kill myself trying to record the whole trip with pictures and video of everything. Some of you might be surprised by how draining that could be while on vacation. That is why these will probably be the only 2 pics you’ll see that I took while away.

In case anyone is thinking of traveling to DR, I would definitely recommend staying at the same place I did. For pics of the resort and more, look below…

The first pic is of me the morning of my birthday. I managed to tell our servers that it was my birthday in Spanish. They brought me a cake. That pic directly below that was of me taking my first *legal* sip of alcohol. My mom and I stayed at Bávaro Beach at the Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe in the junior premium suites. Here are a few pics from the Barceló site showing where we stayed.

This was what our room looked like. My mom and I had each had a full sized bed to ourselves, a flat screen tv, double sinks in the bathroom, sliding doors… It was basically everything you have at home, just a little better and a little more. Very comfortable!

This is a view of the seating area of the restaurant we ate at everyday. Although we could have eaten at about 9 (?) different restaurants, I was extremely lazy and didn’t see the point of walking across the resort for lunch when we could roll out of bed, or our close and cozy spot on the beach to walk 5 steps to the nearest dining area. The food at 2 out of 3 of the restaurants we ate at during the trip were all buffet style.

The entire beach near our resort looked the same so I’m not sure where this picture was taken. It does look like it’s in front of the suites we stayed in though so, this shot is a pretty accurate depiction of where I hung out almost EVERY day.

In case you’re wondering, we used Liberty Travel to book our trip. If you want to get more information about the Barceló chain, click here. Also, if you decide to travel to the Dominican Republic or any other Caribbean or South American country, you may want to read about this. I caught it near the end of my trip.
