Black Friday is just two weeks away and my inbox (both electronic and snail) have been filling up with coupons and discounts for all of the stores I normally shop in. As I start putting together my Christmas gift bags (I’ve already gotten a head start), I thought I might share with my fellow shopaholics a pretty simple way to make money while spending money. I introduce to you all: E-bates!
Please note that I am not being paid by E-bates to write this post. I’ve gotten so much money back in referrals from friends and family alone that I’m convinced this is an exceptional shopping tool. If you’re savvy enough to use Groupon, Gilt, or Hautelook, you should be using E-bates. For the break down on how E-bates works and how I earned over $100 so far, look below…

Thankfully the weather is supposed to be in the upper 50’s next week so if you don’t eat too much ice cream this weekend (is that even possible?), you can visit a Ben and Jerry’s on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 12-8p and get a free cone.
For a list of local Ben and Jerry’s locations, click here.
In the mood for ice cream but not really into the crazy mix-ins? Check out Van Leeuwen on East 7th (in the LES) or Bergen Street (in Brooklyn). They make some incredible ice cream in… “grown-up” flavors.

A few months ago, my friend Rhonesha introduced me to a new iPhone app called Uber. The Uber app let’s you request a black, livery-style car from your phone and automatically charged to your credit card on file, tip included. As much as I wanted to think it would be a good app, I was skeptical. Anything this… fancy (why use an app when I can just call my normal cab company) would cost more than I’m used to spending. The $10 joining credit was enough incentive for me to try it anyway.
The first time I used it, a very nice, super clean, and super huge SUV came to pick me up at home (STAR STATUS!!) and dropped me off in the city. That initial ride was about $10 more than I would have paid with my normal company and about $15 more than I would have paid if I’d caught a yellow cab behind my building. But with the $10 credit, the ride was well worth it. The car was comfortable, clean, and smelled nice. The driver was well mannered, picked me up at my door (it’s sometimes a hassle to get the drivers to pull into my driveway), dropped me off at the front door of my destination, and the tip was included so there was no fumbling for cash or cards. Just hop in and hop out!
Want to join Uber and recieve a $10 credit when you join? Look below…

This deal came just in time! I discovered Stickygram not long after I discovered Instagram. Stickygram is a London based company that prints your Instagram photos and turns them into magnets. If you have an iPhone, then the magnets are almost exactly the same size as the pictures on your phone.
I finally ordered a set after Fab.com had a Stickygram sale about 2 weeks ago.
They came 7 days later. My friends loved them (I’ve never had a thread of comments on any of my Instagram pics that long before) so I was happy to see that today is Stickygram’s birthday!! To find out what gift they’re giving to everyone else, look below…

Well, it’s not so much cleaning as it is… I guess… maybe… straigtening up? Whatever. Clever word play aside, it’s time to get waxed. It’s nearly bikini season and although that may not matter for anyone who keeps their… nether regions bare all year long, it’s about that time for the rest of you.
I’ve been going to Fine Living Ayurveda for the last 3 months for brazilian waxing. There’s only one woman there who does waxing and she is AMAZING! And by amazing I mean quick! I’m not sure there’s anything that can lessen the pain of having hundreds of teensy-weensy little hairs RIPPED out of the one area of your body with the densest concentration of nerve endings of any part of the skin. But, she moves fast; my quickest experience with her (or anyone else) was 7 minutes.
Convinced? To book your appoinment through Lifebooker (where you’ll get a 40% discount off the $60 price tag) or find out more about Fine Living Ayurveda, click here.
Not convinved? For Tia Williams’ of Shake Your Beauty instructional on how to shave as well as the strippers (think: when have you ever seen a hairy stripper?), click here.

My earliest memories of acne breakouts seem most prevalant around 5th grade. I still remember the first school picture I took with a pimple. There were surely more to follow. I tried Proactive, went to a dermatologist and had medication prescribed, drank copious amounts of water, cut out soda and chocolate, and even tried birth control to try and calm the breakouts. Nothing worked.
It now seems that the breakouts are finally subsiding. It could be because I’m getting older and my lifestyle is changing orrrrr it could be because I’ve been consistent with facials at the Lia Schorr Day Spa. I’ve written about this place before. The service kind of sucks (Lia, the owner, doesn’t have the sweetest disposition) but the technicians have been in the biz for a long time and know their stuff. Since keeping up with my appointments once every month/every other month, I haven’t had any major breakouts and the dark spots I had are finally lightening up.
For more info on the best technicians and how to get your spa treatment at Lia Schorr and other spas around the city for $50 this month, look below…

This past Saturday was the first one of the month which means that Brooklyn Museum was PACKED! I went early enough with friends to visit the Keith Haring exhibit as well as the Egyptian Gallery, which is also a must see.
Of course, you have to exit the exhibit through the gift shop which is incredibly overpriced. For those of you who made it to the exhibit already but didn’t pick up anything from the gift shop and for those of you who haven’t gone yet but may want something, look below for deets on a better deal…

Yes! You read correctly. Triomph Fitness in Brooklyn has another daily deal offer up on LivingSocial.com. Pay $20 and you get to attend 20 of their fitness classes.
I bought this exact same deal in November and have been going (almost) religiously, every Saturday for the last 4 months. My goal has never been to lose weight but rather to tone up, which I think I’m successfully doing. You guys can be the judge when you see me out and about this Summer.
I’ve never been so motivated to go to a gym before and I’m sure Jack, my ABStract and Butt, Gut, Tris, and Thighs instructor, is responsible. Aside from the regular schedule of classes, Triomph sometimes overs free classes (ones you don’t need to use your voucher credites for).
To purchase this deal, or one of the others that includes personal training sessions, click here. Move swiftly; you only have 2 days to snatch this deal up.
