*UPDATE* Creating A Successful Business w/Miko Branch

Wednesday, May 6th, 2015 at 9:48 am

Last month was the HerAgenda panel on mastering creative careers. I was inspired to do something a little different, so I baked and cooked for the event. The “Chicken ‘n Waffles” I made were a hit! I was happy to hear such good feedback and I’m hoping for the same with the upcoming HerAgenda panel next week with Miko Branch of Miss Jesse’s!

Mastering the Creative Career You Want

Saturday, March 28th, 2015 at 11:30 am

Next month marks two special events, both involving the brains behind HerAgenda.com. Rhonesha’s birthday is the 17th (go Aries!!) and on the 16th she will be hosting and moderating a panel discussion titled Mastering the Creative Career You Want.

photo-2

The panel will include designer and illustrator Sophia Chang, Leah McSweeney, CEO of Married to the MOB, and interior designer Danielle Arps. I will be providing the food and sweet treats for the event. Yup, sweets and food! This will be the first HerAgenda event where I’ll be creating for more than just your sweet tooth. I’ll also be selling some special treats for those who want to take a bit of sweetness home!

“Priorities” with 3WCircle and HerAgenda

Monday, November 18th, 2013 at 9:46 am

When Rhonesha hosted her last event on Next Gen Women Leaders, I met Caroline Scheinfeld, founder of 3WCircle, “a circle of real women who have real conversations and form authentic connections.” Part of what 3WCircle does is “create, connect and curate authentic conversations and real relationships between real women” to fill the void for “a non-preachy support network that encourages women to be honest about what they want.”

photo 4

Last Tuesday I attended and helped cater an event for 3WCircle and HerAgenda. The conversation was “Love, Career, Babies, and Wellness: What Slices Are In Your Priority Pie?”

photo 4

photo 4

Guest speakers Kelly Hoey, Tai Beauchamp and Meryl Gabay all had some incredible words of wisdom which brought out a few spicy anecdotes from the other women in the room.

photo 4

Three of the most important things I was able to get from the evening were to (1) remember that prioriteis shift, (2) know that there is a difference between feelings and instinct (and to always listen to/trust that instinct), and that (3) the best way to deal with fleeting happiness is to give back.

The next 3WCirlce conversation on “how to give to ourselves and fulfill our desires and purpose” will take place on Tuesday, December 10. To request an invite to this conversation, click here.

Dagne After Work

Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 at 9:00 am

Dagne Dover is a new accessories company started by a friend of a friend (Hey Rae! Hi Jessy!). The company first launched this past summer and they’re hosting an event at Dashing Diva in NoHo to introduce everyone to the new Fall/Winter colors of their signature bags. Check out the vid below featuring the “CW.1” and “T.1“.

Come hang out with #DagneAfterWork for a complimentary manicure, moscato and of course, handbags! You’ll get a SNEAK PEEK of the new colors for Dagne Dover Fall/Winter 2013.

To reserve your spot for the night, click here. Unfortunately, all of the manicures are reserved for the night, but it’ll be worth it to come out, and check out the collection up close. I missed the launch this past summer, so I’m excited about finally seeing everything in person.

My Week in Vegas

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 at 8:11 pm

Last week, I celebrated my 25th birthday in Las Vegas with my mom. The day of my birthday was also the first day of lectures at the 2013 International Baking industry Exposition (IBIE). I used the week to take a much needed break from New York, to celebrate my 25th year on this earth, and to learn a little more to help grow my business.

photo 4

Above is my week of food (some real and some fake) in pictures. The IBIE took over the north side of the Las Vegas Convention Center and filled it with some of the largest cooking, baking, and packing machinery as well as the sweetest pies I’ve ever tasted. I was in a bakers paradise.

Lovely isn’t it? To see more from my trip (including video from The Gun Store), look below…

Final #BakedbyAssataSAYS Bake Sale

Tuesday, September 10th, 2013 at 9:40 am

I am so grateful that I was able to do these bake sales this past summer. Because of them, many of my friends and family got an opportunity to come out and visit me. I also got a chance to meet many of me neighbors.

Thank you to everyone who came out over the summer, hung out with me, and supported my bake sales. The last one of the summer season (and probably the last public one of the year) is this Saturday! I hope to see you guys this weekend!
