BTW.... RevolveClothing.com has been added to my list of favorite sites to order from. They have decent enough sales, an extra 15% off of just about everything and 30% off certain brands (if you call after placing your order). They ship your items fast and it's free. I LOVE IT!
go to this tomorrow for a number of reasons but Linda Church has predicted a decent beach day tomorrow. For those of you staying in the city tomorrow, you may want to head over to New Design High School. Lord and Taylor's is playing nice because of this HORRIBLE weather we're experiencing. They've slashed prices in half on all of their trench coats. Don't get too excited... the prices have already been modified on their site. This one is my favorite. This DKNY trench is the second most expensive trench available for $115.
written about how I really feel about 7Days and all these other photography sites but I'll save you some time and just say this. If you don't want to be found, DO NOT POSE FOR 7DAYS7NIGHTS, TALKOFNY, ALLTHEPARTIES.... (the list goes on).
I was reading YBF today and came across this post on Fabolous and his new baby. I peeped the picture last week as I was flipping through the albums on 7Days. A co-worker informed me that Fab was in fact holding his kid. Now I hear Fab also posted another picture on his MySpace with his kid, so I'm assuming he's not ashamed of him (which he shouldn't be) but it def wasn't a good move for him to NOT avoid the camera like that if he didn't want people to know. I say it all the time, if you don't want to be found out, you need to stay away from 7Days. If you're running from anyone and have more than 2 identifiable tattoos, you need to NOT jump in front of the camera with all "your boys". For fear of getting jumped in the streets, I wont say anything else except for that I look at the galleries on 7Days weekly just to get a good laugh and I ALWAYS get one!
show I've ever seen in my life. My eyes started tearing within the first 2 minutes of this. Well.... not from this particular episode but you pretty much get the picture.
Make sure you have a couple of minutes to watch this. It's 8 minutes long.
WIPEOUT comes on Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC. To watch full episodes, click here.
3 weeks late but I have been keeping VERY busy! I have finally uploaded the pics from the Brooklyn HIp-Hop Festival! The crowd.... Keith Murray Mickey Factz
Fresh faces like Blu & Exile, Theophilus London, and Fresh Daily performed on the same stage as veterans Keith Murray, Buckshot, and the legendary KRS-One. Of course my camera battery went dead FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER right before KRS hit the stage so I have maybe one good pic of him and that's from when he was work with the techs for his part of the show. I must give credit to Ms. No One Ever Slows Her Agenda for taking some of the pics for me. Between the two of us, we could only muster up one press pass so....
To see more pics from the event, you can flip through my slideshow here.
a handsome young fellow, I'll let you guys in on an event Leon (aka Mr. Gatsby) is having for his 21st birthday!!! You also suck for turning 21 before me Leon. lol @ "No Thug Attire"

there were SOOOO many ice cream stains on the ground as I was walking to the train station from the mall yesterday. When I got by the train station, I figured it out. There were 2 M&M trucks parked right outside the train station with ice cream people handing out free bars along with coupons for M&M's new ice cream. Imagine this. The ice cream is JUST like an M&M except instead of the inside being milk chocolatey goodness, it's vanilla ice cream. There are 2 layers of chocolate just like in a regular M&M and the colored shell is hard. The ice cream as a whole isn't so bad but the shell is so hard that the ice cream inside wasn't completely frozen. Almost as soon as I took my first bite, the whole thing fell apart.
Dwight and Nic for getting me into the Nas concert and album release party on Tuesday night AND for putting together that package for me. I had a GREAT time! It is nice to get real VIP treatment every once in a while. For more pics from the event, look below. I'm sure you guys have heard about Nas' deal with Fila (in case you haven't, click here). There were Fila Girls outside of Blender collecting e-mail ocntacts for some raffle (which probably doesn't even exist). The tables in the VIP area were covered with Fila t-shirt and wristband towers. They had something like this at The Stanton Social but I'm not a fan of avocado or cheese (whatever's on top of that bread could be either or neither). The BEST thing there! Nic and Rik Cordero of Three/21media.com. This one isn't blurry Rik! Also in attendance was Fabolous, Mister Cee, Minya aka Miss Info, DJ Enuff, Amanda Diva, Polow Da Don, Kerry Hilson, and of course Kelis. There were a few others that I'm positive slipped by me. New Def Jam recording artist UNIQUE! I have so much respect for this kid. If you don't already know who he is, you need to find out. Dude definitely has a following. And here's Dwight trying his hardest not to look exhausted. He was putting in work that night for sure. As soon as I get a chance, I'll update this post and upload all of my pics from the evening to my PhotoBucket account so you guys can see everything.
meet up with Nic for dinner the other day before the Nas concert (post to come). We went to what I am going to call "our spot", The New York Burger Co. We used to go here for lunch on school days. The food is really good and it's not SO expensive. It's more than McDonald's prices but it taste WAY better! The New York Burger Co. 303 Park Ave South btwn 23rd and 24th Street New York, NY You guys should know by now how hungry I get so the fact that I forgot to take pics BEFORE I started eating (again) should come as no surprise. What you missed was a picture of the "New York Burger" I ordered with three THICK slices of applewood smoked bacon, fries, and a bottle of water. Their fries don't excite me at all but I can't really eat a burger without fries so I got them anyway.
You suck for turning 21 before the rest of us but I still love you We went to eat at Sake Sushi on Queens Blvd for lunch. I normally don't play around when it comes to (what has recently proven to be) the most important meal of the day, so naturally, I started eating before I even remembered I was supposed to take pictures of my food. I would never steer you guys wrong so I'm just going to recommend the restaurant anyway. I had the miso soup, terriyaki salmon with vegetables and white rice, and red bean ice cream. I enjoyed ALL of it! Check it out!
Sake Sushi 95-34 Queens Blvd btwn 63rd Ave and 63rd Drive Rego Park, Queens
I'm almost a week late with this (as I always am with birthday shout outs) but I don't think she'll mind. I went out with Clarisa and about 14 of her closest friends (WOW) to The Stanton Social. The food was GREAT!!! I would love to go back again. To see what we had, look below.
The Stanton Social 99 Stanton Street btwn Orchard and Ludlow New York, NY I have no idea what the "real" name of this is because it was complimentary and wasn't listed on our pre-selected menu, but it's basically pizza. It came close to surpassing my preference for Two Boots pizza (which I think is THE BEST pizza in New York). This was "Sweet and Sour Chicken and Cashew Spring Rolls". The best spring rolls I've ever had! Pictured are their "Red Snapper Tacos" with "creamy avocado and spicy mango". It tasted really fresh like they grew the vegetables in the backyard or something. "Grilled apple and brie Quesadilla - mustard-maple glaze and smoked 'bacon bits'" This was my favorite for the night. The grilled apple made it really sweet the same way plantains does for the Cuban Quesadillas from Mojito in Brooklyn. "Meatballs - herbed ricotta crepe manicotti and plum tomato sauce" This wasn't the greatest but Raeana chowed down on the manicotti since she's on a no meat diet. "Herb dusted Frites" (french fries) and "Marinated Hanger Steak" The french fries were really good. The hanger steak confused me. There was a mini onion ring on top, which was fine, but underneath, there was a potato ball. I'm sure it would have been really good but I didn't know it was a potato. I thought it was a fish ball so when I put it in my mouth, I got confused and didn't really enjoy it. The steak on the very bottom was really tender. Definite recommendation for their steak.
Try out The Stanton Social and tell me how you guys like it. HAPPY EATING!!
I'm slacking. Sorry guys but in hopes of making my life a little more fun this summer and gearing up to turn AssataSAYS.com around, I've been keeping very busy. Again, I'm sorry and hopefully I'll get a day of rest when I can update you on past events.
But for now, you may want to check out Kid Cudi's Mixtpae Release Party tomorrow night. "A Kid Named Cudi" Mixtape Release Party Thursday, July 17, 2008 8pm -11pm The Red Bull Space 40 Thompson Street btwn Grand and Watts (at Watts) To RSVP, click here.
Raeana to the blogosphere! Those of you who know The Socialites personally (or are just FB/MySpace friends) know that Raeana is on her way to Paris, France for the fall semester. Yup... sister girl is moving on up in the world and is seriously going to take the fashion world by storm. She will be documenting her stay in foreign lands this fall on her new blog entitled From Brooklyn to Paris. Here are a few of her drawings she put on her new blog. Since I'm at work right now, I don't have access to my prom pics but Raeana also designed my prom dress for Fashion's 2006 prom as well as Ashley's dress for Bishop Loughlin's 2006 prom.

to not watching BET and MTV and VH1 is that it takes me forever to find songs that get played on the regular. I heard this song all of 7 times (maybe) in the last 6 months and I could NOT figure out who was singing or rapping on this song. I LOVE IT! and I'm glad I found it!

NOT to get wild drunk this holiday weekend and actually learn something in between the alcohol and drugs.
Enslaved Africans were emancipated in New York state on July 4, 1827, because of threats of violence African Americans in New York City celebrated this important holiday outdoors on July 5th instead. hip-hop show at the Knitting Factory a couple of weeks ago, I stopped by the Secret Society Clothing table on my way out and picked this sticker up. Interesting...
big headed, often enough, people ask me where I get my hair done. Well... I go to Shelly's. Shelly's 1801 Fulton Street btwn Malcolm X/Utica and Rochester Brooklyn, NY 11233
They've just re-done the whole shop over and it looks GREAT! More pics below... I'm definitely not telling you guys who does my hair specifically because I'd like for her to be available when I go! All the ladies that work there do a great job though and almost all of The Socialites (and our moms) go to Shelly's. Contrary to what some thought, this was not my hair. I got a weave for prom in 2006 and my hairdresser at Shelly's did it. Even if the girls could tell, the guys couldn't. This was after I rinsed my hair black. It was kind of cool for a while, but red is more my color. And a couple of the other Socialites who go to Shelly's regularly.
Monday night/early Tuesday morning trying to figure out if what I was seeing was a joke. This "Be Kanye" commercial came on about 4 or 5 times on channel 11 (the only channel I watch) and no one I asked about it had seen it.
via BeKanyeNOW For an in depth look at what this means literally, look below. Thanks to Dwight for mentioning to me that it had something to do with Absolute vodka. After doing a bit more googling, I finally found the video. All I can say about the video is WHOA!
ABSOLUT(R) VODKA, the most influential spirits brand in the world, announces a collaboration with musical genius and 10x GRAMMY(R) award-winning artist Kanye West that will join two icons of style together for a series of projects throughout 2008. Their creative ventures begin with sponsorship of the Glow in the Dark Tour 2008 Ignited By ABSOLUT 100, and will continue as West works with the brand to bring his signature style into nightlife arenas and marketing campaigns in a daring and provocative fashion. As part of the brand's 'In An ABSOLUT World' advertising campaign, West, along with other artistic luminaries, will share his vision of life in an ABSOLUT World through online testimonials and interpretations.
"I have a lot of respect and admiration for a brand that was so ahead of its time in terms of seeing the value of collaborating with the creative community to express a unique vision of ABSOLUT. This is a brand that has worked with the pre-eminent artists of the 20th Century -- Tom Ford, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Helmut Newton. These are individuals who have inspired me in my work, and I feel honored to be a part of this legacy," said Kanye West. "What I'm most excited about is the opportunity to help push ABSOLUT in even more scintillating ways through a collaboration that puts me both in front of and behind the camera." -- via PRN
